The Frida Icelandic Riding Club (FIRC) will be participating in three gaited schooling shows this spring in Virginia. The shows will be run by the Nokesville Horse Society. Six classes for Icelandics will be held. Two of the schooling shows will be judged by USIHC intern judges. The third will be judged by an experienced judge in other equine disciplines who owns and rides Icelandics.
The schooling shows will be held in Haymarket, Virginia (about 40 miles west of Washington, DC) on April 7, May 19, and June 2. The April 7 show will be judged by Alexandra Pregitzer and Sara Lyter. The May 19 show will be judged by Curt Pierce. The June 2 show will be judged by Thora Kreyenhagen and Susan Ford. The Icelandic classes will be held from 9 to 11 am on each show day. After the shows, the judges will be available to discuss the results with riders. In April and June in the afternoons, Alex and Thora will give lessons to those who would like them. If there is interest, a trail ride on the nearby Manassas Battlefield Park could be arranged for the next morning.
