Oh man. As the adoptive parents of two boys (now mature adults) who were born in Viet Nam and two disabled youngsters, daughter born in Mexico and African American son, I know all about attempts to provide appropriate cultural input for adoptees.
Guess what? Can't be done! We tried - decided it was better to gather them in and make them ours than to remind them how "different" they are from the neighbor kids. So, the Icelandics have been gathered in - no attempts to provide appropriate Icelandic cultural experiences will be made, however interesting I may find it. Nancy
