Probably not. >>>Can't it be called "empathy"?? Interesting. Yes, maybe it can be. I think it's hard for us, some of us, most of us, to put ourselves in an animal's place, to try to see things from his perspective. With the animals not being able to talk, we can pretty much put any "words in their mouths" and who's to say whether it's true or not. Two people can be looking at a horse, and one might say, "He's so happy" and the other person might see exactly the opposite! We can say that the horse "loves his saddle"; that he likes carrying us around; that he doesn't mind doing this or that.... there's no proof either way. Unless there's something tangible, or logical, or scientific, we may find it hard to make a connection between one event, such as feeding dusty hay, and another event, such as a horse having heaves a few years down the line. Let's face it, I would bet that most of us would never make the connection between intercourse and pregnancy, and the only reason we do so now, is that it's general knowledge, and we've been told so, and understand the science of it.
