I believe that animals have a range of emotions alot like humans. > Sparklers are fire, and smoke, and one thing horses instictively > fear is fire. You know... That's the funny thing, not all horses are terrified of fire. We have a huge bonfire pit behind the barn, and generally if there is a party I go for my horse's sake to make sure they're okay with things. I have turned out in the pasture while we were using the fire pit since it's in the barn yard. Star is utterly terrified of the fire and to get her out to the pasture is tough. Usually I walk her the really long way around the back of the barn. Shogun doesn't spook over it, but he's edgy and high headed. However, Runner will always go visit and beg food from those around the fire. I mean this horse would go stick his nose in the flames if I'd let him. He seems just intrigued by the fire and loves to just watch it. I've caught him a few times just standing at the fence watching the fire burn after everyone goes home. Maybe some horses are okay with fire? I don't think attaching sparklers to their legs is good... It seems whorish and gaudy to me... Just food for thought!
