Hi

I first met the Icelandics in 1976 when Phil and I helped condition the
horses for the Great American Horse Race. After the race my sister, Susan
and I bought 8 of the horses. Soon after we bought 5 Icelandics, some that
I think had been at Annie's (can't remember exactly).

>How many Icelandics has Robyn and her family had in Canada, imports and

Not sure exactly but many 100's.

>Who else had Icelandic's in North America in the late 1970's or early
>1980's - or before?

Arnold Faber brought horses from Holland in the late 70's

In the 50's there were about 20 horses bought from Iceland by two brothers -
the Lee's in Saskatchewan. The got the Icelandics registered through
Canadian Livestock Records under the Pony Breeders division.

As far as SE goes, as Karen mentioned, we have had quite a few horses sent
here over the years to get relief as our farm is quite free of bugs.

My sister, Susan, is living here now and I was asking her about the
percentage of horses that got SE when she had her farm in Ontario and we
don't have a figure but it wasn't 50% but could have been more like 30%.
Still high statistically.
