Did someone say that everyone has to use clicker training? I may
have missed it. I just don't see that there are so many negative
effects if done properly. It's really gotten me out of some pinches,
I first used it in about 1995 or 1996, I may have gotten the
information from this list, that part I can't remember, but I know
Judy gave me the instructions on how to do what I was trying to do,
and I had the clicker training book. It was especially helpful in
getting Dari to come to me in the pasture, that was a situation
where I couldn't get my hands on him, not when I was carrying a
halter (he was in the pasture part of the day and in a corral at
night), and I was able to get him to come to me with the clicker. If
he thinks he is going to be put in a dry lot, stall, or get his
hooves trimmed, he stills runs the other way most of the time. He
knows me pretty well and it's nearly impossible for me to conceal my
motivations from him. He is always there, ready for petting,
brushing, or treats:)
