also, just to go on record and not be accused of hypocrisy, I have one
horse orphaned and bottle fed on a white italian leather sofa before
the fire and I believe he is screwed up by too much pampering.  But i
do believe that is the opposite end of the spectrum than deliberately
terrifying foals to make them "real horses"
But back to cloning.  it really is fascinating. I have two sets of
horses raised from the same places, of same bloodlines, very
genetically closely related.  All are so different, but the thing
about how Second Chance immediately chose a favorite spot to lay in
the yard, the same spot as Chance did. Was it just a great spot?
Gallant Boy eats, saunters off, rolls in the sand, goes to the hay
roll.  Jaspar his son, eats, saunters off, rolls in the sand, goes to
the hay roll.  They are the only two who do that.  and altho raised at
the same barn, jaspar was reared in a herd environment in a bachelor
herd never exposed to GB, who was always stalled as a stud.  so
verrryyy interesting.
