helloooo, every registered icelandic in the world has a good pedigree!
When you say "it isnt an evil thing to do, to use your horse for
showing" "to ride an expensive icelandic," they are all expensive!
They are all similar in pedigree, they are all expensive. Why do you
assume a person who doesnt show and trail rides, is out there on an
inferior mutt horse that was cheap?? And where do you get the idea
that just because a person does not choose to breed they know nothing
about breeding??!? If you were to line up every icelandic breeder in
the world and every icelandic owner that does not breed, I would
guarantee you there would be equal if not MORE expert knowlege about
the breed from the people who do not breed than the ones who do! If
you want to talk about husbandry, delivering foals maybe, but knowlege
of what goes into breeding for quality?? I am not as in tune with it
as most who have owned icelandics for years, but I have owned walkers
for years and I have about an 80% success rate in judging a walking
horse's pedigree by looking at it, at its build, color, headshape.
And anyone who is just as into icelandics as that is gonna be able to
do the same.

I believe icelandic horse evaluations are meaningless
I believe a good trail horse is more valuable than a good show horse
I believe an expensive well gaited well trained obedient trail mount
is a more valuable thing to have than an expensive horse with weights
around its feet running circles around an arena
