That was actually our first assumption. We figured the guy took a young
unprepapred dog out opening day, the dog was gun shy and ran off - a really
long
way.
However, turns out Bud is not at all gun shy, is rather well trained and
polite and wants very much to please.
He is not particularly "birdy" and doesn't have a great nose. We assume he
just wasn't the dog the owner hoped for. We certainly tried very hard to
reunite him with an owner. I think the guy may have been glad he found a home.
