I rode with these two older women this weekend. In the early 1980's
they decided to make a try at being "medallion" winners with the
NATRc. To win a medallion you had to ride 350 official document NATRc
Competitive Trail Rides in one year. So thats 350 miles in 365 days.
So in order to do that they had to pack up every weekend and drive
from north florida to places like Arizona, California, New York state
etc. and they did it! and won a big nice framed medallion. They
ride appaloosas and when the national appaloosa registry learned of
this they sent them a clock made of marble with a brass plate
proclaiming their accomplishment.

I was thinking maybe the USHIC could do something similar for
Remington, and of course others who have had similar accomplishments
in the past or future! Doesn't have to be something expensive! Just
a nice honor, something to frame or put on your trophy shelf to feel
proud of. Would encourage people who like to do things other than
traditional showing with icelandics!
