crystal clear in telling us that it really hurt in that same area.

---------------Actually, this gelding initially had a lump in that area 
and we highly suspected it was saddle fit too.  We gave him some time 
off to heal with good chiro, masseause and vet work.  We changed to a 
treeless Sensation Dressage saddle and just started riding him very 
lightly again about a monthish ago.  He was doing absolutely wonderful 
up until last Tuesday.
