>>>> I will definitely second the value of this book. The 2nd book in this
series - "More Cross-Training: Build a Better Athlete with Dressage" - is
equally good. I'm a huge fan, and you can buy the pair of books on
Amazon.com for less than $50.

I have that one too, as well as "That Winning Feeling." She's a great
communicator, a good, clear writer, very inspirational without getting
hokey. I've mainly mentioned the first one since I think a lot of
trail/pleasure riders think "dressage" is all about top hats, piaffe and
canter pirouettes, and I was afraid I'd make her books sound out of "our"
collective range on the list. I'm only sorry now that I didn't buy some of
her videos earlier. They are really good - even for this simple old
pleasure rider of very limited ability. FWIW, I don't think even the second
book in the series gets much too above shoulder-in - it certainly doesn't
get to the 'high school" moves or even the exercises required at the Grand
Prix level. .
