> We use positive reinforcement training to help with farrier issues.

THANKS Skye!! I've worked w/ my colt w/ clicker training a bit w/ his
feet. I will get on that. However, I know that my farrier won't like
the food thing, and will poo-poo the C/T. On the other hand, when
the farrier was here last week, Shadow only pulled w/ his feet when I
was holding the rope! When the farrier told me to drop the rope, the
colt stood perfectly, w/o moving AT ALL! I was pretty embarrassed,
since it was obvious that the problem is with ME! So maybe I don't
need to do C/T for the actual farrier visit, but for when I'm handling
his feet. I do my own trims about every 1-2 weeks, and the farrier
comes about every 10-12 weeks to "clean up" my work.

More stuff to work on, since I'm not going to ride until my sidepull arrives.

thanks again--Robyn
