Here's a description of the Icelandic Horse from a UK website:

The Icelandic Horse

Personality...

The Icelandic Horse is bred for Rideability - not beauty. It should be
courageous, resourceful, co-operative, willing and robust.

Looks...

The horses stand at between 12.3hh and 13.1hh, being rectangular and well
proportioned.

Judges look for a clean-cut and expressive heads held on a long neck,
although the breed is characterised by a rather large head held on a short
thick neck!

The horse has a heavy mane, forlock and tail. Colouring ranges from course
grey to dun.
