I've heard some horses don't get enough salt from the blocks and should be given loose salt. I put about a teaspoon on their beetpulp am and pm and they have a block. I was thinking about putting out loose salt. I did in the past, but even in the corner of the run in it was constantly getting water in it and getting spilled. I heard about a salt + mineral loose salt supplement that is fine even if left out in the rain, but is $75 for 25 lbs. I remember reading about another type of loose salt good for Icelandics. Any one remember the name of the company? Anna
