Not sure why there is some attitude here Janice, as I do not live in
an ivory tower.....

But when people here ask about tolt, if they are really interested I
take them out to my farm or to my friends farm, and I let them ride
it. Much better than a picture. If I just showed pictures of my
horses racking, I would never sell one, as so many people here do not
know Anything about gaited horses. In the whole state there is
probably less than 75 gaited horses of any breed.

I would have never helped my friend sell her $12,000 gelding by a
picture. The gelding was trained at Gunnersholt, and man can he
tolt!

He is the most responsive, light and wonderful riding horse....so
when some people have an attitude about Icelandic trainers as a
whole, I just can not buy it, as the horses I have ridden that were
trained in Iceland, Drefonde (Gunnersholt) Baldur fra Bakka, who wow,
if every horse had a tolt like him!

So, just to clue you in, my friend who lives here knows a lot about
gait, she will demostrate each different soft gait using her own body
during small clinics here.....and she is right on the money with Lees
book. Anyway, she went to Iceland to teach there about gaits and
riding, yes an american teaching the Icelandiers....now, I get A lot
of help from her....she is very knowlegeable and can tell what gait
from a photo,,,,,actually I would like to see a Gait contest between
her and Judy from Still shots, I have often thought that would be
fun.

Every picture I have showed her she has been correct. I just can not
seem to get it from still shots.

Anyway, your attitude in the last post seemed a little harsh towards
me and I do not know why.........I have Lees book, I am on the list,
and I try my best to learn about the gaits....I have a good friend
who has spent her life on horses and teaching people and
horses....who is very light with her training methods and
gentle...she wants it to be a partnership......which is what I want.

If you want me to show you what a tolt is, you will have to come out
here and ride one of my horses. Then you will know.
