they stay where they are laid :)  and very territorial, will run off
intruders from their nesting areas.  They are indigeonous to new
england.  probably canada?  maine for sure...  they have to have
water.  Some ducks and geese just have to have enough water to stick
their head in and clear their nose holes and keep cool in.  A lawn
sprinkler would be ok.  I have a walmart wading pool.  But some have
to be floating in water and get up some speed to mate.  Swans have to
have a really deep large waterbody to be happy and reproduce.  and
they can tolerate extreme cold.  a nice sized pond at least 3-4 feet
deep would be ok.  But a walmart wading pool wouldnt be good enough
for a swan at all...  and you have to have two, male and female, or
they will mourn and pine and wander off looking for a mate...
