Karen, I am so sorry for your loss. I always feel a little less traumatized by a loss when they die on thier own and a decision to end thier suffering does not have to be made. Still miss them just as much, but don't have to deal with 'did I wait too long', 'should I haved tried something else' etc. My 14.5 yo Yorkie rescue wound down and died after the first cold snap last winter. He hated the cold and I don't think he wanted to go thru one more. Anna
