That's an interesting thought, because the Icelandic Sheepdogs definitely appear more Spitz-like than shepherd-like, at least any shepherd I can think of. How long were the ISD used to herd sheep in Iceland? I remember reading that they were, until relatively recently, basically feral and considered pests by many people. Karen Thomas, NC
