When we bought Trausti and Fylla, they both had ulcers.....they had
these deep line on the sides of their belly.....they had been
pastured alone together for 6 or 7 years, with no other horses, and
in a small space, and only fed alfalfa cubes, and too many. Once
they got here out in a pasture, with other horses and had great food,
the ulcers went away. We also seperated them, as they always fussed
at eaqch other. Fylla is Traustis mother, and I think she was
needing a break from her son. We sold Fylla to our good friends who
will be living on the lower third of our land, and I kept
Trausti.....I know besides proper managment, we gave pepto bismal to
Fylla for a few days, she had them the worst.
