Very good comment Mic.  I would also add a competent farrier.   We
transition horses a lot in our buisness...it is gratifying...but
sometimes because of the feet, weather conditions, pasture, Owners, a
lack of minerals and vitimins, feed, years with shoes, age of horse,
type of riding and what terrain.....so many factors.

I can tell you this, most of our horses have shoes, and we tried for
2 years....our terrain is too rough...there is nothing on the
mainland to compare our terrain to.  I think the rocky mountain range
is tame compared to our rocks here.
