Up until recently (two years maybe?) there was a rule against using dropped 
nosebands with shanked bits - traditional hunter-type nosebands above the bit 
(over the bony part of the nose) were allowed with shanked bits.  That has been 
changed now, and unfortunately, as soon as the rules changed, people seemed 
ready to add more tack.

Absolutely my opinion too, Wanda...unfortunately the trend in Icelandic showing 
seems to be "more is more" - totally contrary to my "less is more" philosophy.
