He meant riding tolt -- that a horse can be naturally gaited but when
mounted, needs to learn to gait with a rider aboard.

He was saying that their prey factor isn't the same,  and that his
methods of trainer body positioning (see 'Dancing with Horses') won't
work with Icelandics because they don't react the same way.  He is
speaking from his viewpoint, how he trains.
