Thank you so much for the invitation, we just may take you up on it!!

We are trying to find an area in Oregon that has similar rainfall & sun days
as we do here in the Sanat Ynez Valley, Ca. & not too cold n the winter.
Our ideal would be no more than 20 " rain with a bit of snow in the winter &
access to trails withing riding distance of the property as I prefer not to
trailer.

Our real esatate agent in the Bend area says they get about 12-14" rain &
winter day temps in the mid to high 30's . Compared to where we live,
property seems a steal. We only need 2-5 acres(more acreage=more
maintenance) & we don't have deep pockets. Both of us need to work, with
me having a holistic health care practice for humans & horses (other animals
too!) I need to start up when we move. Proximity to a larger city with
higher income demographics open to holistic health approach is a must.

I heard the Medford/Ashland area gets about 18-20" of rain with winter day
temps in the 40's., so we are looking at both
areas. We've receive several listings in the Tetherow Crossing area outside
of Bend of 3-5 acres, one with a footed 100 x60 ring/new 5 run-in stall
barn/ BLM land 200 ft out the drive/2006 top of the line manufactured home
of 1800sf for $330,000.00. The other listing were in the mid to high
$200,000.00's all with trail access/some with horse stuff/MF homes of 1996
or newer/ all on private water. Seems like a steal to us where 1 acre
properties like ours are going for $950,000.00- $1,200,000.00 if you can
believe it!! We will have to see when we go to visit in late Oct...maybe
there's something wrong with the properties that they are so cheap??? We
will have to have wells tested I'm told by locals...and need to figure out
what else to investigate as well.

I've been getting terriifc "insider" info. from the very generous group of
people on the Cascade List of things to watch out for & fencing suggestions
etc. Any other input from list residents in these area would be welcomed.
I'd love to have some Icey families to socialize with in my new area. In my
book people who love Icey's rock!!
