One thing you can do for hot water which is cheap and easy to install
at your barn is to get an 'on demand' hot water heater. They come in
electric, gas or propane. That is what we use out here for our
shower. It is great! You do not have a tank sitting there and
keeping the water hot...it heats instantly as it goes through....its
really cool.
Aquastar
Bosch
Takamine (You know I believe that is not quite right)
Paloma
They run around $300 or so for a small unit, for just one location,
easy to install, and the hot water is endless......I have more hot
water off grid than I ever did living with a big huge hot water tank
in the city. And it is cheap to operate.
When we upgrade our shower one to a bigger unit, our small unit will
go out to our barn....
