As a list owner for many lists, with thousands and thousands of subscribers over the years, when a subscriber brings up religion, especially a new convert, I can tell that all logic has gone out the window, and hiding behind religion enters. Conversations and discussions end up to be dead-ends because you can't go anywhere to reach a logical conclusion. Thank goodness, eventually the over-zealous even out over time (like the pendulum that swings, from really bad to really good to being a normal human).
