I have heard that donkey mating rituals are VERY violent. When Andi was still intact, I had hoped he would breed my donkey, Daisy, but they never did. I've been told by mule people, that hinney's are especially hard to breed naturally because the stallion is not as "nasty" as the donkey needs him to be to "turn her on" and let her be receptive. Don't know how true this is, but it sounds true as intact Jacks can be the nastiest and most dangereous, and my little Andi no one would have guessed he was not a gelding unless they looked between his legs.
