Gail, The info I gave you about possibly evacuating to Trabuco Canyon...forget it. I've been talking to friends there and they voluntarily evacuated their horses yesterday as there is a fire burning in nearby Silverado Canyon (set by an arsonist!!) and very near Cook's Corner. I'm just thinking off the top of my head of coastal stables...some other possible evacuation areas are:
Laguna Woods Equestrian Center (the old Leisure World still has a stable and is accepting horses) OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa Hansen Dam Equestrian Center (above LA) LA Equestrian Center near Burbank El Toro Stables? (the old marine base might still have their stables/corrals/pens up - it's in Irvine). Huntington Beach has a stables Nellie Gail Ranch in Mission Viejo It seems that it might be better to stick close to the coast as you drive away from the fires. My prayers are with you all...what a terrible fright this is. Trish
