Its amazing how many anti malaria drugs kill people, first Fansidar and then lariam both of which I have taken with no side effects. Just lucky I guess. This time I am taking malarone, took it last January and had no problems. I really won't be in a malaria area according to the locals but the CDC says it is. I am going to visit Maasai friends in the middle of nowhere, very remote and very beautiful. I have know some of them for 30 years. I get to stay in the one stone house this time rather than a dung hut. Don't know why but when I am there it feels like home to me.
