Tosca is in training (well, the trainer is calling it an evaluation) with a woman who rode to hounds and rode point to point in England as a girl and now rides and trains Arabian endurance horses. She uses a blend of Linda Tellington Jones and Clinton Anderson techniques.
I had no intention of having her do anything involving gait. I just want her to teach Miss T to move her feet. She gets stuck in place. I have a friend who raises and competes in endurance on gaited horses and she swears that she wants them to walk for 100 miles under saddle before she begins to think about an intermediate gait. What do you all do regarding young horses and asking or not asking for gait? Tosca is 1/4 Peruvian Paso, seems to prefer trot, but has shown some intermediate gait at liberty. It is not the typical Paso gait, may be a fox trot???? Nancy
