I actually feel better riding bareback, I can feel the horse much better, feel it right away if something is going wrong. I tried my new improved sheep fleece bareback pad out on Dari, we did a little walk up and down the driveway, he did fine, I've tried it on Celie a little too. I think it is very nicely padded now. The only thing is, when I used to go on long rides my knees would hurt hanging down like that, but I guess my knees end up hurting when I ride with a saddle and stirrups too, I guess my knees are just messed up.
