>>> The horses are again confined to the paddock near the barn as we had
>>> another weekend of deer gun hunting season. At times I think they don't
>>> get along as I see Falki chasing Gloi off, but who's to say that he doesn't
>>> provoke it because he enjoys it. He walked into Falki's stall this morning
>>> at feeding time. He knows the routine! When he and Calvin lived together,
>>> there was much less drama, but maybe it was too boring. Gloi and Falki are
>>> often seen standing together as often as they are seen harassing one
>>> another. Who really knows what a horse likes. They are a constant source
>>> of intrigue and amusement to me.

Don't you just feel sorry for the people who only see horses as creatures to
ride? I love riding, but watching the herd interactions in sheer wonder and
amazement is a huge part of the joy of owning horses. I feel sorry for the
folks who aren't lucky enough to own their own property, where they can witness
this part of horsemanship, day in and day out. I knew from the time that
Virginia owned the list that she was a person who NEEDS a farm - I know she'll
get a huge kick out of this sort of thing, and I look forward to hearing the
stories from her new farm!

Not long after we brought Thunder and Mac home, Cary came in one day shaking
his head. He wanted to know who writes all the horse's "laws". They certainly
have a complicated and disciplined sense of law and order. :)
