>> My Kitchi came from a puppy mill. She and her sister were supposed

Ann. what a beautiful girl!!

>> were either tied up or caged all the time

How awful. I'm glad that Kitchi found a forever home with you. I
read in your article that Tasha is in Mpls. That's about one hour from
me. Thanks for sharing her story with me.

>>Did you know there are dog auctions in Kansas? Perhaps other states too.

Yes...IMHO...just awful. MO, PA and OH are some of the other states
where puppy mill breeders...USDA Class A hold auctions. Animals at
these auction are sold to other Class A breeders, but also to Class B
brokers. I am sure there are more out there.

For those who do not know about this....Class A are breeders. Class B
are brokers who buy dogs from Class A breeders, but they also buy from
backyard breeders, dog shelters/pounds, newspapers ads, flea markets
and then they resell the animals. They are also known to take animals
from "For Free" ads and resell the dogs to research institutions or
veterinary schools. Don't even get me started on this topic.

This year HBO presented an excellent film called "Dealing Dogs, the
Betrayal of Man's Best Friend". It focuses on Class B dealers. I
highly recommend it.
