Karen~ Although I understand what you are saying, you have to realize, that 99% of television, movies, etc is aimed at the GENERAL PUBLIC. I am sorry, but the general public is NOT EQUIPPED to handle dogs and cats...they should just have a goldfish or even a toaster oven. I personally feel that the idea of keeping them inside for 99% of the human population is a great idea. Of COURSE they will need to take their dogs out for walks...but I am telling you...I worked in veterinary ER for YEARS and most of the horrible things we treated or euthanized could've just been solved if the owners just kept the pet indoors.
