>>>>> I think they have as much difficulty relating to the 'Bettys' as we
have relating to these farmers and how they ride normally for their work.

Great point, Anna.

>>I think you hit the nail on the head and being different doesn't make
anyone right or wrong, just a very different life and the horses are used
for work
in these situations.

But there's at least one sense where "right versus wrong" is defined by
forces beyond any of us individuals. How many "Betty's" are there in the
USA? Ten million horses, most owners are adult, even middle-aged-or-older
women...so probably at least a million or two? Certainly way over half a
million...? And when you consider that a good many male riders are
corresponding "Billy's", that's a lot of us Billy's/Betty's. Any way you
look at it, there are a lot of us...many times the entire population of
Iceland. And...who are the biggest group of potential buyers...? Billys
and Bettys. (Look at the demographics of the folks who crowd to see the
Parelli's if you don't believe me...) And who is selling, at least in
Iceland...? A few hundred Icelandic farmers...? In this sense, our
free-market economy dictates who's "right", at least in the sales/marketing
sense!!!

"All truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." ~ Arthur Schopenhauer
