Try the Sierra mountains and the ski resorts. Heavenly Mountain near Lake Tahoe shows a big spike during the storm (http://cdec.water.ca.gov/jspplot/jspPlotServlet.jsp? sensor_no=11696&end=01/08/2008+08: 13&geom=small&interval=30&cookies=cdec02), and Mammouth Mountain in the eastern sierra reports 6-8 FEET of new powder from the storm (http://www.mammothmountain.com/index.cfm). All of this is good news for California since much of the state depends on Sierra snow pack melt for its water.
