oh no, its not a problem, he is EXCITED. he is not fearful. On a big
ride with many many horses its as if he forgets a human is on his
back. He threw me at a field trial this time last year because a
horse came up fast on our rear and he kicked out at him double barrel
which sent me over his head. He can freak out and be fearful, but
when he is really tuned up and ridden every weekend, I can take him on
a field trial or ride where there are a lot of horses on the trail or
at the trailhead and he turns into a maniac. One thing he does also,
he starts deciding it is his job to protect the other horses around us
all of a sudden. Like kicking at horses that run up on us, barreling
between horses that want to pass and the horse he has decided to
protect. Interestingly he is not buddy sour. He can leave home and
ride with another horse but he immediately makes himself protective
and buddy sour to some other horse on the ride. People laugh and say
how cute, stonewall has a crush on their horse etc. I notice that is
his herd place at home with the others, he protects Jaspar at all
times. then transfers that to others when jaspar isnt around. I took
him away from jaspar and he started doing it to fox.
