NC weather isn't a lot different from many parts of Oregon, Kaaren. I am a weather-wuss, but even I will ride in snow. Ice is a problem, but if the precipitation is mostly snow (even with a mix of sleet) horses - and humans - can usually get enough traction so that walking isn't an issue. Unfortunately, we get more ice or ice-topped snows here. It's really peaceful to go riding in the woods in the new fallen snow... :) We could get some on Thursday... gosh, if we do, I hope it's SNOW!
