OK, now that's interesting. You don't happen to know the name of the
vet involved, do you?

Offhand, I can think of about 8 Icelandics with "active" spavin (as
opposed to spavin in lower mobility parts of the hock joint which has
fused and does not cause pain/lameness ) in the country at the moment.
We have around 550 Icelandics here.

I know of 1 domestically bred horse with it. We have one imported mare
with it - 7 years old, started very gently at 4½, never ridden on ice.
