Introduction to any green stuff should be slow. I let Charm graze on the lawn for a little bit year round so that when the new stuff comes up in the front pasture, she's used to it. Starting off with just a small amount of time for a few days, then building up to an hour a day for a few days, progressively, reduces the chance of founder or colic.
