This is a cross between barley and rye, You can buy it in Bakersfield, but I don't know if it's grown there. My hay supplier in Walker Basin is growing some this year, but he doesn't know much about it. The past few months he has been getting hay from Utah and Nevada. Kern county grows a lot of hay, but most of the fields are sold to dairies before it is even planted. Janet Caliente, California
