I wouldn't have said that the tolt is the signature gait of the breed
- FEIF promotes them as five gaited. It's perhaps a bit different in
Europe where people advertising them do tend to emphasize the tolt,
probably because gaited breeds in general are in the minority (or
virtually unknown) so a "different" gait is a good selling point. Why
no one has cottoned on to the fact that three or four "different"
gaits are an even better selling point is beyond me...
