When we had dairy goats, we also had a Kommondor. He was one of my all time favorite dogs. After we got Hagar, we never again had a goat/predator problem.
We didn't require that he actually live with the goats 24/7. I just couldn't do that to a dog, but his very presence seemed to deter predation. One trail I ride on is pretty separated from the farm it skirts and those folks have several herd dogs living in a pen with sheep. It really does work. Nancy
