on the trail when i get relaxed and have been riding an hour or two and Teev is relaxed, I ride one handed. He neck reins but I dont neck rein him, I just steer with my feet and he is so totally good with that! He has learned my self taught cues just awesome! When he first came to me he would get frustrated cause Shirley and lord only knows who else had taught him stuff I didnt know, like it was a year before I figured out he didnt understand me tapping him with my heel, but understood a calf squeeze. but now, we are just so relaxed, no reins at all, him so responsive to my barest little heel nudge.
