maybe you guys can pass along some tips for my friend sylvia. She has never had a baby before and her mare is overdue by 3 days to deliver a mule foal. She seemed to "bag up" and it went away and sylvia fretted the baby died, but now it is coming back. How does that bagging up thing work? Is it supposed to come and go? Also, Sylvia has another mare. She is keeping them separate but they seem to want to be in together real bad. Sylvia is afraid the other mare would kill the baby. Anyone know about this? I guess its best just to keep them separate. I am sylvias primary consultant on this foaling stuff and if you knew how little i know you would be very afraid.
All I can think of is how I need to take lots of photos :) Janice -- even good horses have bad days sometimes.
