i started listening to him, and he started trying to communicate. He would look me deep in the eye and lick and chew, and all the time I was learning on here, on tv, in books, better ways to work with him. when I would reward the release he would behave so well. He would try so hard. and he became more forgiving of mistakes. I recently whacked him about a dozen times between the eyes, all over his face. he closed his head and lowered, licking and chewing, he had grazed from an ant bed and had fire ants all over him. before he would have run from me. Yesterday Tivar got his slinky guard hung up and over his face. When I tried to fix it he was angry, walked away tail swishing, I followed, he stopped, licked and chewed, allowing me to untangle him, then I saw our blue heeler had been stalking us and was on her belly right behind him. I yelled and threw a stick at her and he licked and chewed. I still have trouble listening, but i try... Janice
