One more uneventful session, one step at a time. Today she got the surcingle buckled - not TOO tight, but certainly not loose. She turned her loose to graze for a few minutes so she could feel the girth tighten around her middle without any pressure from a person. Then the previously chased and wary mare got her first gentle "free lunging" lesson, while wearing the surcingle...Then more leaning over her from the mounting block, putting some weight on her. Slow, but very steady progress I think. I took tons of video too, but I'm not sure I'll have time to put many of them on YouTube. Karen Thomas, NC
