April 29, 2008 It has been reported that Prometea, the world's first cloned horse, delivered her first foal, Pegaso, on March 17, 2008. In it's report, telegraph.co.uk has quoted Prometea's 'creator,' professor Cesare Galli of the Laboratory of Reproductive Technologies in Cremona, Italy as saying, "Horse cloning is simply an assisted reproduction technique that allows us to obtain copies/clones of castrated champion horses and finally, from these clones, the champion's offspring that otherwise would never be born."
