Cary had just flipped on to see the news about 6pm, and we saw it was coming
on. I don't like the racing, but I was interested to see a filly in the
field, so I watched her, sort of rooting for her. She made it through the
race, then they announced she finished second. She apparently collapsed
right after the finish line and they euthanized her on the spot, not two
minutes after the finish of the race. I only saw her down for a brief
flash. Apparently when she collapsed, another horse spooked and threw his
jockey. I cried - I just couldn't believe it happened so fast. TB racing
is so horrible. Ima turned four on Thursday, and I haven't started her
under saddle - I have only been doing some ground work with her. It's so
hard to imagine that 17H filly was a year younger than Ima. Sooo sad and
so pointless...

And a lot of people won on that race that killed her...

I had to go play with my babies after that.
