This reminds me of an issue we have had with our neighbors.

6 years ago we sold them a horse for their kid who was an adult, 24 years old,
who was a pretty good rider, and yes lived at home. The gelding was good with
children under direct supervision with an adult, with a lead line or in a round
pen. She would ride him by herself or take out her siblings with him, or take
lessons on him with us.

Well, she finally left home, the horse stayed, and the parents were not horse
people. One day their youngest daughtwer who had been taking lessons with us
for 2 years, twice weekly got permission from her dad to go into the pasture to
catch the gelding with her friend. Well she improperly held the lead rope so
that is was looped around her hand. (Something we Never Allow). Anyway, for
some reason he spooked and drug her around the pasture a little ways. She did
not get injured, thank goodness, however they have blamed us for it. Even
though we were not involved in the accident, nor were we present. We were in
the process of selling them an Icelandic mare at the time. We had to back out
of the deal becuase after a long talk I asked this question:

If your kids or other children ever have an injury from riding or being around
this horse, will you blame us in any way becase we trained her or sold her to
you? Her answer was yes, they would blame us. She wanted a 100% gaurantee
that her kids would never ever be hurt around this horse.

I told her with horses there is never a 100% gaurantee...it is a risk no matter
what the breed, temperment, training, environment, whatever. I told her she
needed an electric golf cart for her kids to ride around in.

So we refunded her money.

Life is a risk, get over it.
